Caleb Hagwood
Caleb sings lead and harmony and plays upright bass for the band. He is enrolled in the Funeral Program at Fayetteville Tech and works part-time with Hudson Funeral Home in Durham, NC. His compassionate nature and close personal walk with the Lord makes him the right fit for comforting families during their greatest time of need.

At age 10, Caleb received an electric bass and started taking lessons from Bluegrass great Jan Johanssen from Cary. He then moved to the Upright Bass as he pursued a more bluegrass sound. He continued his music education with Michael Pope in Durham for six more years as part of his homeschool education with his brothers, Jackson and Connor. In 2013, he took home the 1st place ribbon in the Adult Bass category at Hoppin’ John’s Fiddler’s Convention in Silk Hope, NC and 1st place in the Junior Bass division at the 2010 Alleghany Fiddler’s Convention in Sparta, NC. He and his bandmates have won top awards in band competitions across North Carolina.

Caleb currently plays a 1988 Englehardt but sometimes brings along his “stick” electric bass to accommodate stages with limited space. His hobbies include autograph collecting, attending concerts, and spending time with family and friends. His claim to fame is that he has a real knack for winning concert tickets and prizes from local radio stations. He’s actively involved in his community and church and can be seen playing electric bass in the praise band at Grey Stone Church.

Caleb draws much strength from learning more about his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ through small group Bible study. His favorite Bible verse is Phillipians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
